iPhone 3G Report27 - Fring (Skype and VoIP enabled!)
Fring is app store officially released Skype/SIP/IM app.
I didn't believe that Apple allowed its release because allowing Skype/SIP call will become the rival of Cellular call.
You can connect to Skype, MSN Messenger(Windows Live Messenger), ICQ, Google Talk, Twitter, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, and other SIP connections. Also audio messaging is available except Twitter, Yahoo and AIM.
Ofcouse, you can use Skype as VoIP, and also Skypeout.
I tried to call to my cellphone from Skypeout on Fring. And I could recieve the call !!
Fring and Backgrounder is a perfect combination for mobile messaging solution. But there is some lack of function in this app.
1. It forces to start connection of all IM accounts on startup.
2. You can not turn off each IM account (you have to delete the account you want to turn off).
3. You can not set your status of IM.
