Audi MMI (Multi Media Interface) can connect and control iPhone (iPod).
MMI console is ergonomically designed. It gives cool digital interface in the installed display and driver's control panel, but functions like the old school software of 1st generation iPod. No shuffle, no on-the-go, just playing in alphabetical order of songs or playlists.
MMI software should be updated cooperating with iPod developper team.
Finally, iPhone dev team released software based baseband unlock app "yellowsn0w".
I tried it on my iPhone and it successfully worked!! My iPhone 3G detected NTT Docomo as carrier, then I could make a phone call via the network.
I am so excited!!
I failed several times after installing yellowsn0w, and found a tip which enables it on terminal.
# yellowsn0w -r
I guess you can make it.
We have two major tethering application for iPhone.
One is PdaNet, and another is iPhoneModem.
PdaNet uses so much resouces while tethering, but it seems to be more stable and reliable than iPhoneModem.
I prefer PdaNet though iPhoneModem is distributing the tiny app "iPhoneModem.app" which creates Ad-hoc network automatically. This app is so useful with PdaNet.
StreetView of Google Maps was supported on iPhone software 2.2.
Drawing street view is not so fast, but I can enjoy and utilize it anywhere with iPhone.
iPhone firmware 2.2 released and was broken by new released QuickPwn.
It was so easy as previous version, but I couldn't restore JB software with AptBackup (It doesn't seem to work without restore by iTunes.)
Anyway, 2.2 runs fine after the pwnage.
My GR DIGITAL was accidentally broken.
Its lens was dented by pressure in my pocket. And it does not work now...
It costs about 23,000 yen to fix. So, I am thinking new GR DIGITAL II or Nikon D90 (or both...)
Direction (経路) of iPhone's Map has not been available in Japan for a long time.
Now it is available in some place and part of Japan.
GPS on Google map is very useful, so this support becomes one of reasons to purchase iPhone.
